Kind words from Obama backers about Bill and Hillary on the eve of the convention

Politico is reporting

he former president is disappointed, associates said, because he is eager to speak about the economy and more broadly about Democratic ideas -- emphasizing the contrast between the Bush years and his own record in the 1990s.

This is an especially sore point for Bill Clinton, people close to him say, because among many grievances he has about the campaign Obama waged against his wife is a belief that the candidate poor-mouthed the political and policy successes of his two terms.

After a period earlier this month when the two sides were working collegially over strategy, scheduling, and other convention logistics, things turned scratchy again in recent days.

Some senior Obama supporters are irritated at how they perceive the Clintons fanned -- or at a minimum failed to douse -- stories that she was not even vetted as a possible vice presidential nominee. This is because she told Obama she preferred not to go through the rigorous process of document production unless she was really a serious contender, an Obama associate noted.

One senior Obama supporter said the Clinton associates negotiating on her behalf act like "Japanese soldiers in the South Pacific still fighting after the war is over."

A prominent Obama backer said some of Clinton's lieutentants negotiating with the Obama team are "bitter enders" who presume that, rather than the Clintons reconciling themselves to Obama's victory, it is up to Obama to accommodate them.

In the modern era of democratic politics, there is only one political messiah who has delivered and that is Bill Clinton. The rest is all hat no cattle for now.

So how many people fell for the Text message here?

I was going to write a diary back when the idea was thrown out to enlist your personal cell numbers to get the VP news.  I saw it coming as a brilliant yet slimy marketing plan ALA ole bait and switch plan- but thought to myself; why not let you followers of all things Obama just do it and sit back and smile ( sorry, most of you who did sign up are rabid fans who in my eyes deserve getting shafted by the Obama marketing team)

Brilliant, why? because you know one of the most coveted database that politicians want is those cell phone users demographic.

Slimy, why? because you who have now signed up for this marketing ploy now have your cell phone numbers for life in the Obama and DNC database to be now and forever ( while you keep the same cell number) be spammed with news and donations through text messages. AND FOR EVERY ELECTION going forward!

I can predict - Weekly text messages perhaps for donations and just political spam for all elections to come.

So how many of you fell for this; giving up access to that one clean space on the internet that was free from spam mail? SMS TEXT msgs... and for the life of your cellphone use on that number?

OMG that Girl Hillary said Obama was not ready to be President!

Hillary made one statement eluding to obama is not ready to lead from day one.  Everyone jumped and cursed her out.  Now your VP candidate has a list of obama statements.

" I think he can be ready , but is not yet. The presidency does not lend itself to on the job training"

Joe Biden:

"When this campaign is over, political slogans like `experience' and `change' will mean absolutely nothing. The next president has to act."

Assessing Obama's Iraq plan on September 13, 2007: "My impression is [Obama] thinks that if we leave, somehow the Iraqis are going to have an epiphany" of peaceful coexistence among warring sects. "I've seen zero evidence of that.

Observer interview: "But -- and the `but' was clearly inevitable -- he doubts whether American voters are going to elect `a one-term, a guy who has served for four years in the Senate,' and added: `I don't recall hearing a word from Barack about a plan or a tactic.'"

September 26, 2007: Biden for President Campaign Manager Luis Navarro said, "Sen. Obama said he would do everything possible to end the war in Iraq and emphasized the need for a political solution yet he failed to show up to vote for Sen. Biden's critical amendment to provide a political solution in Iraq.

What is the difference between Hillary and Biden?

Obama stood - no longer stands for in my eyes.

  1. Not same ole Washington politician - But chooses one for his VP
  2. Showed judgment on Iraq- But chooses one who supported/ voted/ funded the war and promoted the surge too.
  3. Not a war happy guy- Biden was the main architect for Bill's war in Kosovo in the past and voted for the iraq war.
  4. Wanted someone who stays on message - but choose Biden who is prone to gaffes
  5. Someone who voted against bankruptcy laws- but choose biden for VP
  6. Someone who connects with blue collar people- so does hillary in spades and 10x times better.
  7. someone who actually read the NIE report- but chooses  biden who did not

So tell me again if Biden is his choice why give up on 38% of Hillary voters and make this race tight by electing to go with Biden?

So how many : "I wont vote for Hillary because of Iraq"

...posters here.  Will flip flop on their position, now that obama is looking to pick a guy who voted/ funded/supported Bush's war?

Yes, come on now, let's hear the spin. The direction of the wind has changed, lets hear you reverse course. You did it on FISA , keep that tradition going.YES YES you can

Senator Biden -" John McCain is a personal friend , great fried, I'll be HONORED to run with McCain or against him because the country will be better off no matter who won"
Your second in line for the presidency. The man who you want to be President if god forbid anything happens to the President is a war monger now. That's your choice but hey, you can spin it. YES YES you can!

P.S don't forget to give obama your cell numbers ( txt msg plan)for his database ( and for the DNC 'Permanent' database) to be among the first to see it come through.

Jesus Christ!

Politico ( http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0 808/Obama_I_will_win.html )

He was warmly received by House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who called him "a leader that God has blessed us with at this time."

Almighty err alrighty then.

I'm Running against OBAMA. Vote for the real Liberal!

My Grassroot effort paid off and I was on TV today! One city at a time. No flip floppers- Just a pure Liberal! VOTE FOR MY ID(flipped): FOXROXY 08 RULES!

I have moved to the center: As I have--- I move along.

I have moved to the center. Thanks to largely the net roots crowd and people on MyDD and Kos and alike. I have never pretended not to be a Hillary supporter. But Obama's message of unity in Washington, HOPE and CHANGE was inspiring. I was holding my nose to vote for Obama. BUT...

You won baby, you have taken yet another voter who was going to come together for Obama - to back away.

Have at it people- I now leave you to your séance, bashing and successful run at making more like me to back away from Obama. Your conduct as his supporters who take Obama over country- has solidified it

Sorry senator but you

Failed in getting your own faithfuls to act on your message
Failed in creating anything remotely HOPEFULL.

All we have so far are words and no sign of its effectiveness or follow through. In all fairness, you have not had the chance as president to do so but his move on FISA and stance on Pro-choice is self evident of same ole politics.  More evident is that his democratic supporters this year have become a mirror image of the nastiness that republicans have always been known for.  You are not democrats- you are for anything Obama stands for. He is your 11th commandment. If he FAILED in getting his 1st act of creating a different 'kind' of politics through to the heads of his own supporters, I have no hope or am I inspired about his potential as a President. All I hear is same old talking points when politicians say things to tug at the heart strings of the people to get elected.

Regardless, we are going to have a Republican lite version for the next 4 years. Obama is so thankful for Bush being a leader in this--for he paved the way in taking away our rights as citizens and allowed Obama to says "trust me" but I want to keep those policies going. Well you know what? Since you still want to keep his policies ticking, I will bet my house that the Iraq policy of stay the course will remain-- maybe with some small token gesture of 40K troops out from it.  And lets not even talk about the elephant in the room of NO attacks in the last 7 years. This will force Obama to cower to an aggressive domestic policy assault on our constitution rights.

Republicans that had majorities in both houses with a republican president led to spending and more spending and corruption. Now it's the turn of democrats to do the same.

So what's the solution for me? Not voting for McCain rather not voting for a presidential candidate. Yup! We speak of others who support Bush or tell them that they are complicit in promoting his failed policies. Well, I will not be complicit in letting My Vote go to any democrat who is hell bent on staying the course Bushy style.

Adios with this last word!

In my book: The only great proven democrat in the last 40 years was/is Bill Clinton. You would not know, as I suspect 90% of you were chasing the next beer bong in High school or university in that decade.

And oh - don't forget to kiss my ass as that Mydd door shuts behind me! These boots are finally made for walking.
